There are 50 days to go until the election, and Oregon is moderately favoring Obama.
The most current polls at Pollster.com show Obama leading 47% to McCain's 41.1%. Over the past few months the gap has been widening and showing Obama will a more clear lead.
Oregon has voted Democrat the past four election cycles. In the 1992 presidential election, Clinton took Oregon with 42.48% of the vote, Bush received 32.53% and Perot received 24.21%. Clinton took Oregon again in the 1996 election with 47.15% of the vote, Dole received 39.06% and Perot took 8.8%. in 2000 Gore barely took the state with 46.96%, Bush received 46.52% and Nader received 5.04% of the vote. Kerry won Oregon in 2004 with 51% and Bush had 47%.
Neither of the two candidates will likely stop here, as there are not many electoral votes at stake (7) and is not influential enough to help either candidate at this point in the race. Read the article from The Oregonian here.
